Our Story

Norton Sound Seafood Products (NSSP) is a division of Norton Sound Economic Development Corporation (NSEDC), one of six private non-profit Community Development Quota (CDQ) groups in Western Alaska. NSSP was established in 1995 and operates commercial seafood activities in the greater Norton Sound region including red king crab, salmon, halibut, and herring. NSEDC, though its partners, also has operations in pollock, cod, Bristol Bay red king crab, brown king crab, opilio crab fisheries.

In the coastal villages of the Norton Sound region in Western Alaska, fishing is part of everyday life, and in many cases, the only commercial activity. Here, local fishermen and our specialty processing plants are working to preserve the village way of life by catching small harvests of premium seafood and handling it with the utmost care. For markets looking for something other than mass produced food, NSSP provides exclusive offerings of hand-caught and carefully processed seafood products from sustainable fisheries.

Norton Sound Seafood Products harvests the FRESHEST seafood in Alaska from naturally occurring fish stocks. Some of the finest WILD fish in the world is available through Norton Sound Seafood Products for its valued customers.
